Much like the recent storm swept through the northern region the previous evening, Manchester City blew Manchester United away at the Etihad. It was a statement 3-0 victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side due to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that firmly established their championship potential as they consolidated their standing at the top of the table.

Successive Setbacks for United

This result signalled consecutive WSL defeats for the United manager's side for the maiden instance since last May, leaving them a significant margin off the table toppers with their championship aspirations severely dented.
